Our highest goals for your time with us are that you gain a greater sense of who God is and who you are in Him. We believe that as Christians our life is our ministry. God will call some to vocational ministry, others to the marketplace, and others to work in the home. Our objective is to help you explore where God is calling you to live His love out to others, and to equip you for a life of ministry. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow in both a classroom and hands on work environment in the following areas:

•Personal Discovery and Development: Receive mentorship, serve others, live in community, examine your gifts and personality traits, step into various leadership positions, and press further into who God has created you to be.
•Bible and Ministry Training: Dig more deeply into God’s written Word, take time to be still and hear God’s voice, explore your heart for ministry, and take a closer look at your personal experience with Jesus as your savior and how to share Him with others.
•Wilderness Skills Training: You will be trained and equipped to serve as a guide in the areas of: white water rafting and kayaking, rock climbing, backcountry travel (winter and summer), challenge course, and horsemanship.
•Opportunities to Minister: Most will be as staff on our wilderness trips, carrying out the ministry content as well as guiding. You will also host retreat groups and serve at ministry wide events.
•Operations: Learn about and help operate an adventure and retreat based ministry through office administration, food provisioning, equipment repair, and facility projects.

Requirements:
•A love for God and a passion to see others come to know Him fully.
•An attitude of service to others and a willingness to carry it out in a variety of ways.
•A desire to live and work in community and invest in relationships.
•A willingness to be challenged in an intensive learning environment.
•An agreement to be held accountable, and to give healthy and honest feedback when necessary.

Financial details: We have found it helpful to approach this in the same way they would approach a short-term mission trip. All our staff raise funds from individuals who believe in this unique ministry and are willing to give financially. YD will provide training and resources to equip you for fundraising.

The next step: The internship runs from mid-September through mid-August annually. In order to have adequate time to raise your financial support we recommend sending your application in by April 1; the final deadline is May 15.
