[hide details]
This is a 4 day rock climbing adventure! If you have never climbed before, this is the perfect opportunity; if you have, so much the better. This trip is all about developing deeper relationships. Holding the rope for each other as you climb is one of the best ways to increase trust. The commitment required to “belay” one another is substantial. The risk of failing is very real but the rewards from the attempted climbs are worth the effort.
The importance of good communication and a gentle but firm hand on the climbing rope serves as an ideal model for quality relationships. The combination of a good relationship and good climbing technique increases the chance of successfully reaching the top of the steep granite walls.
This experience can also serve as a powerful metaphor and reminder of the parallels between rock climbing and one’s spiritual journey. For many, rock climbing requires tremendous faith in their divine Belayer.

Single Day Rock Climbing
[hide details]
Why climb? Why stretch for the next ledge and scrape for a foothold when all your muscles are begging & fear is screaming through your head, "GET DOWN!"?
Rock climbing is a lot like life. When looking up to the top of a climb you can see your goal, but the holds that will get you there aren't always so obvious. You can map out your life for the next ten years planning the steps that will lead you to your goal, but unexpected difficulties are bound to come up. It's not until you get on the climb or into your plan that you see how difficult life can be. How well prepared are you to face the challenges that come up? What's going to keep you from hitting the deck when you fall and your plans don't work out like you thought they would?
In rock climbing, just like in life, you will occasionally stumble and fall. It's what you're attached to that keeps you safe. Any climber knows that to be safe your protection must be in place. With the rope secured firmly to the rock and attached to the climber all is ready to go. Or is it? No matter what protection is used, the climber must put their faith in the rope if they are to overcome their fears.
On YD Adventures rock climbing trips we talk about facing the fears of faith as well. How stretching it can be to live a life of faith! Some people choose never to leave the ground; others start to climb only to be overwhelmed by fear, and still others learn to trust in their protection to keep them safe. Which type of person will you choose to be?

We climb in two primary locations. Near Anacortes, Washington we climb on Mt. Erie which overlooks the Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, and in the distance Mt. Rainier. It's awesome. Sometimes we're able to watch bald eagles soar and perch in the trees below us. In Leavenworth, Washington we climb in Icicle Canyon, home to thousands of rock routes on polished granite, and establishing itself as one of the premier climbing locations of this region.

Skagit River Rafting
[hide details]
Come join us on one of the most beautiful rivers in Washington. Build relationships, play on the water, and take time to hear what God has to say. He speaks from the mountains, through the trees, and on the river. Let Him be your guide. Let Him show you what is around the next bend and past that set of rapids.
If you are a youth group leader considering this trip because you want something different for your students, unplug them from their digital devices and challenge them to take a fresh look at God. If you are looking for a way to expose a student to Christ without having to convince them to step into a church building, sign them up!
Our primary mission is to share Christ with those who do not know Him and facilitate spiritual growth in those who do.
If you have only one day and you are looking for a worthy investment for your students, this is the trip.

The Skagit River is not as much of a whitewater river as the Wenatchee River. It has one “class III” and several “class II” rapids but it is an incredibly beautiful trip. We offer trips on the Skagit River in August.
