About the D'Atres
Rick and Melissa spent their first wedding anniversary as Summer Staff on a backcountry training trip in June 1997. A year later they arrived from Virginia as full-time staff on their second wedding anniversary.
As the Program Manager, Rick oversees the various aspects that go into the many trips we offer. He also enjoys getting out in the field to share the power of that environment with students or staff. His outdoor background started in Boy Scouts, progressed through Search and Rescue, and involved guiding trips in the Adirondacks for another outdoor ministry. Rick tries to bring his lifelong experiences in the wilderness and pursuit of God into the present to take advantage of opportunities to share the story of God's restoration to impact students spiritually.
Melissa has been the Food Provisioning Coordinator and the Client Services Coordinator. She now stays at home with our 5 children (Dawson, Isaac, Kalea, Eden, and Silas).
