This is a seasonal summer position with a 2-summer commitment.
Each year, YD Adventures summer staff help us lead adventure-based wilderness activities for a variety of individual youth and teen groups. The staff team makes serving Christ and others their priority.
Adventure-based ministry serves as a powerful tool for changing and shaping lives for Christ. Trip participants come with a group (like a church youth group) or sign up individually for an "open enrollment" trip. YDA trips are between 1/2 day and 10 days long. They take place in various locations throughout the Northwest US, launched from the three YD Adventures bases in Horseshoe Bend, Idaho; Canby, Oregon; and Leavenworth, Washington.
YDA staff design the ministry program for each trip according to the participants' specific needs. They seek to integrate evangelism and spiritual growth into every trip. Staff also perform the various tasks necessary to prepare, run, and close their trip. This provides an opportunity to experience both the "up front" and "behind the scenes" aspects of YDA's ministry.
All YDA staff either volunteer or raise funds from friends, family and contacts, as missionaries to Northwest teens. YDA will provide all the resources necessary to raise the small amount of funds needed for a summer. Summer staff begin work in May and finish at the end of August (with the option to begin earlier or end later).
